Coyle Timber stocks a large range of prime grade kiln dried square edged Oak boards.
We are able to machine our Oak boards with our edging machine and our planer thicknesser if required. Please note that achieving a ‘planed all round’ finish on boards is progressively more difficult as boards get longer and wider. As a rough guide, for boards less than 2m and 250mm width, anticipate deducting ~8mm from the stock thickness. For longer and/or wider boards, we may need to remove more material so allow upwards of 10mm from thickness. What this means is that you may need to consider purchasing thicker stock for larger sized pieces. We can advise you on this prior to ordering.
Please allow at least four days lead time for machining work – we may be able to do it quicker, but this is obviously dependent on workload.
Our Square Edge Kiln Dried Oak is QFA (Grade 1)
All of our Oak timber products are sourced in Northwest France from a supplier we have worked with for more than 17 years. We consider them friends rather than associates. The trees are harvested locally from sustainable, well managed woodlands and the products are exported by sea from the nearby harbours of Caen, Cherbourg or Dieppe, thus reducing transport impact on the environment. The Oak industry in France is one of the most sustainable in the world as many of the woodlands are owned by families who have been managing their forests for many generations.
